On Saturday, September 28th, Barnes & Noble hosted a book fair to benefit SLP.  This was organized by Tamara King, our volunteer leader of the adult Book Club on campus, to raise money for purchasing future books for the club.  Best-selling author Dori Sanders was on-hand to sign her books, and local TV anchor Janet Parker came by to read a story to the children.

Sick Babies at St. Lawrence Place

I’m working from home this morning.  One of my twins has a fever, so he’s out of daycare for the day. It’s particularly frustrating because his twin brother was out last week, with the same virus. One day last week Becca’s oldest had strep. He played at her feet scattering popcorn around her office, while she got a few things done before running out to disinfect her house.  Finally, Jessica ran back and forth for two days with her own case of strep and a sick husband and daughter at home with a bug.

A SLP Book Club Surprise!

Monday, August 19 held “A Perfect Surprise” for our St. Lawrence Place Book Club!  We had just finished reading Perfect Peace, a novel written by Dr. Daniel Black.  (All novels for the club were generously donated by Dr. Black).  Since early July, our Book Club had been reading the novel and we all had many questions regarding the content, which explores gender roles and the debate of nature vs. nurture.
