Out & About with the SLP Teens

On July 17th, the teens at St Lawrence Place held a carwash to raise funds for future activities. The event was a resounding success, raising $230.00. This could not have happened without the hard work and effort of the teens, SLP staff, and those of you who stopped in for a quick vacuum and wash. We would like to send out a huge thanks to all those who made this event a success. And please forgive us if I failed to recognize anyone.

We’re over halfway through the summer, and the kids are learning so much about other countries.  Our volunteers are the best, and we are so thankful for all the wonderful field trips and other opportunities afforded our students.

SLP Teens Giving Back

Greetings from the Teen Program! The teens are enjoying some down time since the conclusion of the school year. Though the summer is not all fun in the sun time, our teens have been volunteering at various organizations throughout the Midlands. This past Friday, they had the opportunity of working for a wonderful organization, the Harvest Hope Food Bank (HHFB).

SLP Class of 2015 High School Grads: Looking Ahead to the Future

It is such an amazing opportunity to offer CONGRATULATIONS to some of our outstanding teens on their high school graduations.  Graduation is a major milestone is a teenager’s life, taking that next step into adulthood.  This post made me think back to my own HS graduation, (not important how many years ago), but the mixed emotions I felt: happiness, pride, nervousness, anxiety.  But one thing that was overwhelming, was how proud I was of myself.  Though you may have received support and guidance along the way, YOU each crossed this finish line with the hard work & dedication YOU put in.  Below are some of our celebrated teens:
