Over the past few weeks I’ve been able to give several tours of our campus to people who have (or have not) been supporters of St. Lawrence Place for years.  And I’ve noticed something:  we’re in the woods at SLP.

Race for the Place 2014 Review by Tour de Blue Shoes

Posted by: Becca Smith Hill

Alex McDonald, a self-proclaimed “running freak,” and author of the blog Tour de Blue Shoes, recently reviewed the Race for the Place 5K.  We are flattered by his kind words about the race, and hope he continues to patronize our event!

His words were also sampled as the front page story in the Columbia Running Club‘s weekly newsletter.

Thank You to Race for the Place Volunteers

Posted by: Jessica Malovic

Recruiting Race for the Place 5K & Fun Run volunteers is not always as easy as it sounds. Honestly, who wants to wake up early (really early!) on a chilly Saturday to stand in the cold for hours? St. Lawrence Place is fortunate to have a large dedicated volunteer base. If you participate in the race, I hope you notice the same smiling faces cheering you on each year. We add a few new faces to our Race for the Place volunteer list, but the majority brave the cold every year.

Heart to Heart: A Positive Parenting Program is the newest program for families at SLP.  Through community partners and existing parenting programs, SLP will administer a weekly program aimed at improving relationships between parents and children, and in turn improving outcomes for children.  School readiness and success, along with a healthy parental relationship can make all the difference for our children.
