On September 24, 2008, St. Lawrence Place was awarded a 3-year grant from the Sisters of Charity Foundation. The grant money will fund a brand new program at SLP, the Community Career Project. The program will serve adults already living at SLP, provide them with an on-site paid internship and training in administrative/office work, childcare, or maintenance/landscaping. The goal of the program is enhance job skills and earning capability while providing references and a network within the Midlands community.
