While St. Lawrence Place is a program, it is also a community – and we rely upon our residents to cultivate a healthy, safe, and positive campus environment.
A dedicated St. Lawrence Place resident organizes and leads monthly Residents’ Council meetings that are aimed at identifying and addressing campus concerns and promoting a cohesive community. Topics discussed at the June Residents’ Council meeting included campus safety topics, hosting a baby shower for expectant mothers, and establishing a community emergency fund.
Residents’ Council meetings aren’t all business though! At each meeting residents also celebrate that month’s birthdays with a delicious cake from Cake Squad. Cake Squad is a group of 4 generous and talented ladies, Zoe Voulgarelis, Jan Davidson, Tammy Ridgeway, & Tammy Grooms. These ladies have committed to “Baking it Forward” and they provide cakes and cupcakes for numerous charities throughout the Midlands.
We are proud of the initiative that St. Lawrence Place residents show in caring for their community, and we are thankful for groups like Cake Squad who share their time and talents to celebrate our residents.
