In serving homeless families, Tyra fulfills two vital roles: Interim Director of St. Lawrence Place, and VP of Programs for its parent organization, Homeless No More.

As Director of St. Lawrence Place she oversees all daily activity at the St. Lawrence Place campus. In addition, Tyra leads a team responsible for developing and implementing adult, teen and children’s programs across the Homeless No More spectrum of programs and services. A Global Career Development Facilitator, Family Self-Sufficiency Specialist and a Benefit Bank Counselor, she has more than 16 years of experience working with families in the housing and homeless field, many as a Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator for the Columbia Housing Authority.

Before taking on the role of Interim Director, Tyra served as Director of Family Programs for St. Lawrence Place. She previously served as a case manager for eight years.

Tyra received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from South Carolina State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She and her husband are the parents of 8-year-old twins. In her spare time, Tyra loves a good reality television show.
