Watching Community Partnerships Grow

Sometimes it’s the little things.  Sure, monetary donations are important (we couldn’t keep the lights on and staff paid without them), but community partnerships bring in all sorts of other important – and much needed – items for our families.

Through these community partners we are able to provide clothing, food, school supplies, furniture, welcome baskets for new families and an abundance of services ranging from tutoring to counseling to our families. These services and supplies enable our families to focus on their most important goal – obtaining the skills they need to succeed in permanent housing.

And sometimes a partnership comes along that provides two much-needed items: money and food!

For the past six months Chipotle on Gervais Street has donated food to St. Lawrence Place. We have used their donations to feed our summer campers, provide lunch for our “Lunch ‘n Learn” life skill classes and have simply sent food home with our families in need.

Now you can join Chipotle as they give back to St. Lawrence with a special “percentage night” on October 8th.  Simply have dinner between 5-9pm at the Chipotle on Gervais Street and tell your cashier that you’re eating to support St. Lawrence Place  or show them this percent night flyer.  Chipotle will donate 50% of the nightly proceeds back to SLP.

Money and food! Everyone wins, especially the families of St. Lawrence Place.
