The children of St. Lawrence Place are surrounded by a supportive community. Here, they gain the freedom to explore childhood and learn skills they’ll call upon throughout their lives.
St. Lawrence Place provides children with stability and support that busy working parents can rely on. We provide homework help, healthy snacks and pure playtime for community families and some Family Shelter families after school and during school holidays. Children also learn vital character-based and life skills training using an effective literacy based program.
The learning continues when school is on break. We provide full-day camp during school holidays and breaks so kids have access to healthy snacks, educational activities, mentoring, tutoring and cultural field trips. Our ten-week summer program is so enriching it rivals private for-profit camps.
St. Lawrence Place is 30-home community that provides programming and transitional housing — with assessments every three months to evaluate growth within the program — for qualifying families. Our program offers families the structure, training and support to help them gain a life free of poverty.
